Trei Real Estate GmbH (Trei) is further expanding its Polish retail portfolio: The real estate subsidiary of the Tengelmann Group has opened its ninth Polish retail park under the Vendo Park brand in Chodzież. The new retail park offers a varied retailer structure and brand range over a total of 4,150 square metres of rental space. In addition to the electronics store Media Expert, the property also houses various providers in the fashion and sports categories, including Takko and KiK (both clothing) Martes Sport and 4F (both sports equipment), as well as Pepco (non-food), Hebe (health and beauty) and a bakery. The total investments in Chodzież amount to EUR 5.7 million. Trei plans to keep the property in its portfolio on a long-term basis.
Pepijn Morshuis, CEO of Trei Real Estate, comments: “In Chodzież, we identified another attractive location for expanding our portfolio of Polish retail parks. Thanks to optimal transport connections and a varied economic structure, this town with 20,000 inhabitants offers excellent growth opportunities.” Chodzież is situated roughly 70 kilometres north of Poznań and is a popular destination with its three nearby lakes and its lively sports and cultural scene. Morshuis continues: “We see particularly strong potential in small and medium-sized Polish towns like Chodzież, as they are often considerably undersupplied.”
In total, the Trei portfolio has 18 Vendo Parks in Poland, Czech Republic and Slovakia, with 10 other centres currently being developed. “Our goal is to have a portfolio of around 50 retail parks,” Morshuis adds. Just recently, Trei opened Vendo Parks in Skierniewice, Łódź (both in the voivodeship of Łódź), Świdnica (in the voivodeship of Lower Silesia) and Dąbrowa Górnicza (in the voivodeship of Silesia).
Under the Vendo Park brand, Trei Real Estate plans, builds and operates retail parks in Poland, Czech Republic and Slovakia. The first Vendo Park in Poland was opened in Nysa in 2013. Today the locations are Chełm, Milanówek, Mińsk Mazowiecki, Skierniewice, Łódź,
Świdnica, Dąbrowa Górnicza and now also Chodzież. In addition to developing retail parks in Poland Trei Real Estate manages more than 100 commercial properties in which the food retailer Biedronka operates.
