Trei Real Estate (“Trei”), an international developer and asset manager for residential and retail real estate, celebrated the topping-out ceremony for its latest residential development today, located at the Zollhafen area in Mainz. On two development sites in the Neustadt district in northern Mainz, 183 rental apartments with a combined residential area of about 13,200 are being created: “Fischerhof”, delivering 88 apartments, the other one is “Lotsenhof,” delivering 95 apartments. Shell and core works were recently completed for “Lotsenhof.” Trei’s total investment costs add up to c. 84.4 million euros. The final completion is scheduled for some time between Q4 2023 and Q1 2024. General contractor is the company MBN GmbH, while HPP Architekten GmbH based in Düsseldorf is responsible for the architectural design and the integrated planning.
“In close proximity to the Rhine in Mainz, an urban quayside apartment block characterised by high liveability and a high quality of stay is being developed. We are quite excited to see our residential development take shape with the completion of the shell and core works, and it is nice to get a first idea of the residential ambience that is being created here,” commented Pepijn Morshuis, the CEO of Trei Real Estate. “What makes the two plots so special are the man-made canals that circle the two development sites. They create two port islands that further enhance the feeling of direct waterfront living.”
Michael Schröder, Head of Development and Construction Management, added: “The works are still on schedule at this time, even though we keep having to cope with challenges arising from the situation caused by the coronavirus pandemic and the armed conflict in Ukraine. The first property is expected to be completed by the end of next year, and the second building soon thereafter. We would like to warmly thank all stakeholders involved in the construction and in the planning efforts for the great collaboration.”
A total of 183 residential units are being created in two construction stages, one involving “Hafeninsel II” (“Fischerhof”), the other one involving “Hafeninsel III” (“Lotsenhof”). At either site, the buildings will be grouped around a landscaped inner courtyard in a perimeter block development, with L-shaped canals arranged around the residential courtyards. In addition to the residential units, Trei will construct 147 underground parking spots.
